My Life is Now Complete

The full run of the Weekly World News is available on Google Books.

Seriously, y'all, this is SO VERY amazing.

Why?

Who could forget:

The first appearance of Bat Boy?

Or when President Bush met with Space Alien?

Or when Clinton met with JFK

Finding that online has been my salvation at work these last few weeks. Every time we hit a lull, I skip off to the Weekly World News archives and my troubles seem to magically disappear... haha

My younger brother worked at a grocery store when he was in high school & college, and he was always so excited at the end of the week when he got to sneak a discarded (unsold) copy of the WWN out of the trash. His bedroom walls were papered with pictures of Bat Boy, Ed Anger diatribes and all that other crap.

One of our favorites (which I haven't found in the archives yet) was from right after 9/11--they did a story about how Bat Boy was being deployed to Afghanistan to hunt down Osama bin Laden.

We read it in college. We'd tear out relevant stories and tack them up on the wall.

The Best (and most relevant at that time): Greedy Landlord Choked to Death with Cash. Or some such thing.

We'd read Ed Anger out loud. And Bat Boy. Man... Bat Boy. But the emergence of Space Alien was one of the best things. If Space Alien was on the cover we'd grab a copy.
