When calling to pitch me your newest database, don't bullshit me. I may "just" be a librarian but I am not an idiot. or easily swayed. When I tell you I don't want your resources, accept it and move on. And don't pull the "well [insert fancy-sounding school name here] has it." Because as I just told some vendor, "I don't care." Why don't I care? Because them having one crappy resource that regurgitates stuff that already available for free doesn't impress me. And without knowing what the rest of their collection is, what their programs are like, or even what their budget is--this information is meaningless.
