After watching the Packers piss away an amazing comeback during overtime, I ran some errands--mostly the food shopping.
I was standing in the express lane with my Tofurkey deli slices and veggie sushi, half paying attention to the two people in front of me. But what had my full attention was the check-out guy. When a new customer arrived at his register he'd smile and in a bright, happy, almost sing-songy voice say, "Are you having a bad day?"
What?
When he asked me, I said, "No." Because I wasn't.
What I really wanted to say was, "I am now. What the hell is wrong with you?"
But I didn't.
